Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
My flight was cancelled, I had to book at another airline at a premium price. Insurance is denying claim and does not want to recognize terms of the insurance, tries to juggle with wording only not to pay the warrantied reimbursement.
No live person is available to discuss a claims. Paperwork processing takes too long and no resolution offered. Paperwork and responses via email are too convoluted and no direct answers can be received.
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!!

The only hitches with the claim to Generali was a change in claim agent and a misunderstanding about the date a credit for a cancelled flight would expire. Took a bit longer to get this settled than I expected.

Thank you for your comments. Although most Comprehensive plans include Trip Cancellation coverage, your trip must be canceled for a covered reason as listed in your policy. Each claim is reviewed by an adjuster and adjudicated based on policy wording. AIG Travel Guard will have a member of the Claims team follow up with you to explain and discuss the reason for denial.

I'm happy to say we didn't need to file a claim. However, we still feel like it was worth the peace of mind, and price, to purchase the plan just in case.

Plan was great, but you need to be sure and read the rules for Cancel For Any Reason, especially the 14 day purchase rule. If you purchase this trip insurance greater than 14 days from leaving, you may be out of luck.

Cancel For Any Reason
This coverage is Optional and must be shown on Your Confirmation of Benefits.
If You are prevented from taking the Covered Trip for any reason not otherwise covered by this policy, We will reimburse You or Your designated representative for 75% of the prepaid, forfeited, non-refundable Payments or Deposits for the Covered Trip arrangement(s), provided the following conditions are met:
(a) this coverage is purchased within 14 days of the date the initial Payment or Deposit is paid and You insure the cost of any subsequent arrangement(s) added to the same Covered Trip within 14 days of the date of Payment or Deposit for any subsequent Covered Trip arrangement(s); and
(b) this insurance coverage is purchased for the full cost of all non-refundable prepaid Covered Trip arrangements; and
(c) You or Your designated representative cancels the Covered Trip no less than 2 days prior to the Scheduled Departure Date.
This coverage will be terminated and no benefits will be paid if the full costs of all prepaid, non-refundable Covered Trip arrangements are not insured. Any premium paid for this coverage will be refunded.
Since I have a good health plan that includes evacuation, I would prefer to see a plan that is geared more towards travel away from home (excl. evac.). Consider the option one for those with evac. and another without.
