Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
We were disappointed that our request for compensation for one night's hotel stay was rejected out of hand because it was before the main trip. We took action to move two earlier connecting flights so that we could make the international flight on time. Our local airport was scheduled to close because of the impending snow storm on March 14. We took steps to mitigate the loss by taking an earlier flight. If we had been delayed for the 2 days that the airport was closed, there would have been major costs incurred which the insurer would have had to cover, plus we would have missed at least 4 days of our trip and an internal flight. The airline recognized the problem and waived the rebooking fees. We are disappointed that the insurer was not as reasonable.

Answers to above questions based on having no problems with my trip. However, I believe that the CSA a Travel Protection I got was the best I could get & at a great price.

The true test is the response from the company should a policy holder file a claim. We did not need to, so the true test was not applied. However, the customer service was excellent--both at the time of researching/shopping/purchasing, as well as the contact the company made with us right before we left on our trip to refresh our memory on the plan. We changed the start date and end date with only a few days notice because the trip "moved" a bit as it got closer. Everyone we spoke with was exceedingly helpful.

Plan differences are somewhat confusing. The most important feature when we travel is repatriation. Airfare is usually recoverable or changeable even when working planning a trip with a tour. Insurance coverage could be for land costs only minimizing the cost of insurance for an expensive trip.

Had my phone stolen in Ecuador. Spent a lot of time filing a claim and submitting police report and necessary paperwork only to be told that phones are not covered in the fine print. Spoke to more than one customer service rep and none of them mentioned it and let me proceed with wasting my time. In the end I was upset because the phone was not covered but also because I felt I had been misled into wasting time and effort. Turns out there is a lot of stuff that isn't covered so BEWARE:

We certainly can understand your frustration. As you indicated, it does take time to file so it can be extremely frustrating when that claim is ultimately denied.
Enrollment was easy and straightforward. Offered a relatively long window between first trip payment and insurance purchase to receive waiver of pre-existing conditions. Price was relatively reasonable.

Thank you for your review. Our time-window for the pre-ex waiver is aligned with the industry average and in many cases it is longer. We are happy to hear that you found the purchase process easy, and we look forward to insuring your next trip.
I did not need to make a claim, so I can't rate the customer service. The cost of the plan was good in comparison to a few others I liked at and it covered my needs

The Plan, for what it was, appeared reasonable. In the end, no one wants to ever have to use such a Plan -- because that means there was a nightmare with luggage, or a flight, or a medical issue...none of which any of us want to occur.
I did read a review where someone 'lost' a watch and it was replaced. I was encouraged, as my cell phone was stolen on the trip (and not out of the hotel room, or out of the car -- but literally right out of my wife's hands!) -- but when I read the policy, there on the 'Exclusions' list was #20 = cell phones...no payment for any loss or damage. So, I will admit that was disappointing. There were other exclusions that I acknowledge I did not read before I purchased the policy -- but who knows what to anticipate, especially if we are not experienced travelers!
I presume that if any of the horrible events had occurred, for which I did purchase the insurance, there would have been appropriate coverage and response by the company...I am glad none of them did.
