The insurance covered the requirements of the Costa Rican Health Plan. As far as actual benefit, if coverage was needed, is unknown due to the lack of need.

The plan I purchased was specifically tailored for Costa Rica, which was great. I called insure My Trip twice with questions and was very happy with the responses provided. The representatives really understood my questions and answered in a professional way. Very happy.

Their customer service was awesome. They gave me suggestions on how I can lower my costs. I only insured 2k of my trip and paid $95 for four of us. That was the best deal I found. Others wanted $450. I highly recommend them.

My insurance didn't cover the requirements for Costa Rica COVID-19 coverage in February of 2021. I had to buy additional insurance from another company to cover the requirements at the last minute.
Still, I felt secure in the coverage that was provided and I would consider purchasing it for travel in the future.

From a healthcare provider- I don't think it should be mandatory to require health insurance, I feel it should be optional. I bought it knowing I would not need it, and I didn't. Frequent traveler and have never needed insurance. I've both had COVID and been vaccinated against covid. Still having to purchase trip insurance felt silly. I think this would be best for elderly or those more at risk.

We had to cancel our trip on March 2nd due to illness. This was at the beginning of the Covid 19 pandemic. It took a few weeks longer than usual for the claim to start being processed (which was very understandable). But once the agent opened the case, the process took about a week to complete. Then once fully approved, we received a check for the full amount of insurance claim in 3 days. Outstanding service!

I became a fan of travel insurance after a friend had to be medically evacuated from Mexico during a cruise due to kidney stones.The price was right for the coverage I wanted, especially medical evacuation. You never know how good a plan is until you need to use it and I haven't had to use one yet.
