My outbound flight was delayed by several hours which meant I could not make my connection in Tokyo. The Insurer has been quite difficult about documentation showing the trip delay. I have sent several items including the Flight status log showing the delay, but they continued to ask for why the flight was delayed. I would like the company to be a partner with their customer instead of an adversary. So if you have a claim, be prepared for a lot of problems from the company. I was expecting much better customer service. It has been over 4 weeks since I filed the claim and all I hear from the company is the need for more evidence that my trip was delayed. I booked the flight on ANA, but the operating airline was United. Each pointed the finger at the other with neither accepting fault for my flight issue. Again, I think the insurer should have been on my side instead of placing numerous obstacles in my path to prove my claim

Overall great deal and I would recommend to others. I thought I may have to use some of the medical coverage (but didn't). I called and inquired about claim procedures. Customer service and the medical department were very helpful and explained everything. That reassured me that I had made a good purchase. Overall good value and by a recognized name in the insurance business.

So, no idea how it might work out if/when needed. But it got good ratings, so I presume it will work well when needed and, thankfully, no need to use it on this trip. But the price was very good, compared to what OAT, our tour company was going to charge.

I had to be hospitalized during my stay and I contacted InsureandGo right away. They said they would take care of the payment at the hospital. Then when it came time to pay, I could not contact them. It was only after I had paid (out of pocket) and left the hospital that they emailed me and said they "would have paid". After this email assuring payment it took 2 weeks of daily phone calls and emails to finally get a response and process my reimbursement. This plan may work well for small things, but if you get in a large monetary problem do not expect this company to be accommodating.

The true measure of a travel insurance policy is when you make a claim and the plan pays without a hassle. I did not have to file a claim as everything went smoothly so although I can say it was easy to select and pay for the insurance I have no idea how the company would have treated me if I had to file a claim.

Having to buy insurance for travel adds to overall cost of travel. I don't like having to do it, but i feel that if I don't buy and something happens and I don't have coverage then it can potentially cost more. I've been buying comprehensive travel insurance for the last ten years and luckily I haven't needed it, so i can't really say how good this or any travel insurance product is, but it does give piece of mind while traveling, so for that, it's good.
