In my years of travels I have always selected Generali Global Assistance and even though my credit card provides travel insurance I chose the Premium plan to supplement it, fortunately I did not have to submit a claim, but it is always good to have the peace of mind in case something happens. Flight delays, lost of baggage are not fun! having travel insurance will determine if you will sleep on a dirty airport floor or on a comfortable bed at a hotel. Always get travel insurance!

It was comforting knowing we were covered for so many things that can create travel headaches and cost us money. We didn't have any emergencies this time, but we did last year and were covered.The best part this year was being able to confidently insist to the rental car company that we did not need their collision damage coverage. We were covered well enough to buy TWO of the little Renaults.

Insurance as you know is something you purchase and hope you will never use. We purchased the AIG Travel Travel Guard Platinum plan because we wanted to make sure we were covered in case of illness, death or some other less minor incident happened. When planning our adventures we always insure our travel investment with travel insurance. It's the smart thing to do!

I purchased trip insurance because I have an elderly father and never know when I'll be needed. We spent a lot of money on tickets, an apartment rental, and some tours to risk losing it. I didn't need to use the plan since fortunately, all went well during our travels. It was reassuring to know we had the plan just in case. It is a shame that if you are older you have to pay considerably more for a plan. I'd love to be able to pay less for a basic plan instead of $1000.
