Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
Insurance is something you buy hoping not to use it. Hard to rate a plan until you’ve needed it. With that being said, I’ve purchased it before and I will again.

The plan gave us peace of mind on a month long trip to Australia and New Zealand from the US. We are relatively healthy seniors in our 70’s. We visited cities and rural areas. We walked, hiked, jet boated and rode a helicopter. LWe are very thankful that we did not have to use the plan.

I had COVID and the insurance policy I paid for turned out to be absolutely useless. Never again will I use Generali Global Assistance company, this is why:
I tested positive for COVID using my home test kit while in Melbourne, AU. I tried but couldn’t find a testing facility to obtain an “official doctor notice”. I contacted Generali assistance line for help with locating a facility to certify my test result. They found a place in Perth (!) which is on the other side of the continent! After explaining this to the rep they advised me to use “Google” although I had told them I had already tried the Google route in vain and that’s why I was calling them. No other solution was offered. Now I can not even submit my claim because I don’t have a medical doctor notice certifying I had COVID. I do have pictures of the test result, but it is “not official”.

I got Covid on my travel to Morocco. I have a prepaid tour which I need to leave because of testing positive. IMG paid for the unused portion of my trip. The claims process were quite stressful at first when I was sick because they ask for a lot of support (of course). They were quite responsive and I got my claim. I appealed because the count of days of claim was short which they did investigate and I got $46 more=).
