With an aging father this plan gave me peace of mind during my trip. Wanted to make sure we were covered in case we had to race back home for unforeseen events. Also wanted to make sure we were covered for medical expenses in country should there be a need. Fortunately we didn't have any problems, but peace of mind is certainly worth it on an expensive trip. Customer Service at InsureMyTrip.com was excellent in helping me choose the right plan as not all plans covered what I needed.

Insurance provides peace of mind. This policy provided coverage for cancelled shore excursion that we almost needed but the tour company refunded our money. The ship was not able to dock due to weather conditions.

Given the potential secondary ramifications of the Thomas Cook failure on the eve of my departure, the InsureMyTrip plan offered additional coverage and security. My tour company subscribed to UK ATOL (insurance protection for group tours transit) but I feared that insurance fund would be depleted by the Cook failure. I have no idea how to prepare for future BREXIT risks and would like to see separate offers to address this.

There are typically 3 conditions that must be met to purchase a Cancel For Any Reason Rider: Purchase the policy within 10 - 21 days of First Trip Payment; Insure ALL prepaid and non-refundable travel expenses prior to departure; Trip arrangements must be canceled more than 48 -72 hours prior to the departure date. If you meet all 3 of these conditions, this benefit will typically reimburse you 75% of your trip cost, unless otherwise noted.
The Cancel For Any Reason benefit will show under its own box. Please make sure to click on the underlined phrase to view the requirements to qualify for this option. If you decide to buy this Rider, make sure to click on the box near the Cancel For Any Reason benefit and hit the 'buy' button at the top or bottom of the quote. When we scheduled our trip , we had purchased insurance through insure my trip with John Hancock. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to cancel our planned trip. I contacted the insurance company and they were very helpful in instructing me with the needed documentation and follow up, We are awaiting the refund which we have been told will be arriving shortly,

Fortunately my trip went smoothly and there was no need to file a claim. My review was based solely on the coverage offered for the premium paid. The premium was very reasonable compared to what was being offered by other companies.
