I purchased the policy in February for travel in Sept. and Oct. My travel plan took me through Hong Kong which, in the intervening weeks, had serious rioting including incidents at the HK airport. I had a question about my insurance coverage and contacted your representative for clarification in the event the riots caused a cancellation of my trip. I was advised that my policy provided for such an event. Further, IMG said they were closely monitoring the situation and were in contact with people in HK. They assured me that, in their estimation, my travel plan should not be delayed or interrupted and I had sufficient coverage in the policy. It gave me piece of mind and my trip went off without a hitch.

I had to bother a claim worker several times to get any info on the plan I purchased as I received nothing showing plan number, or anything showing I purchased a plan. Fortunately she was able to search out and send me some info showing I had bought a plan even though it was not her area. Someone should have sent me info on the plan I bought and a receipt at least.

After purchase, InsureMyTrip and Berkshire Hathaway emails a purchase confirmation which can be printed and carried with you on the trip. The purchase confirmation includes the purchase details, contact information, and schedule of benefits. I was very satisfied with the Standard plan and for a trip costing In the thousands found the price to be very competitive. I am so glad I did not have to use the plan for any components of our SE Asia trip.
I will share that we had to use an earlier Generali Global Asistance Standard plan when our trip was cancelled to the Turks & Caicos due to adverse weather conditions. The Plan reimbursed us our entire lodging expense which was non-refundable. I plan to keep using Generali when I have incurred major expenses that need to be insured. Thank you
