Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
Although I did not have to use the insurance, it gave me great peace of mind. Good value for the money and the website makes it easy to compare coverages and costs.

This policy covered most of the items I was interested in but not all. If the motorcycle I requested to rent (in order to fit me and thereby enable me to safely ride it) was not available when I got there this policy would NOT have covered me for the trip and tour expenses. The tours have you sign a waiver and trip insurance doesn't cover you if they can't deliver what they promise. I had to take it on faith that the tour company would in fact provide the model I requested. There should be a way to buy trip insurance to cover this potential type of problem.

I am very happy to say that although it took a while for resolution to my claim, I did get a completely fair and just solution to my claim. I do understand with the Covid pandemic that delays are not unusual and understandable but nonetheless great customer service revolves on addressing consumer concerns which definitely was done. I would recommend both InsureMyTrip and Generali Global Assistance Insurance wholeheartedly and not hesitate to tell my family and friends this and look forward to using again once worldwidetravel becomes more available and safe. Thanks again for listening and acting positively on my claim.

Although it took 7 months, I finally received my trip interruption insurance claim from C&F. Since I purchased the policy through Insure My Trip, I reached out to them, 3 months in, to try to push C&F to respond to my claim. Insure My Trip was very helpful in clarifying the hold up and with further help from my travel agency, Pavlus, I was finally able to get the compensation I was due.

Summary: Avoid. IMG refuses to cover what their policy says is covered.
Detail: I purchased IMG travel insurance for our March trip to New Zealand. The New Zealand government imposed a 2-week mandatory quarantine for all travelers coming in due to COVID-19 four days before our trip, so instead of touring the country in a camper we’d have to book brick and mortar accommodation (additional costs) and stay there for 2 weeks. We canceled the trip as a direct result of the New Zealand government imposed quarantine. We lost money on our camper rental (the rental company refunded only 25% of the costs), and local airline travel within New Zealand. Point 3 of the IMG policy Trip Cancellation section we purchased states the policy covers “Insured or Traveling Companion being hijacked, quarantined”.
I called IMG’s customer service. They told me there was no point in submitting a claim as it will be rejected, because my quarantine was caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Their policy mentions no quarantine exclusion due to a pandemic or any other reason. If IMG want to exclude quarantine due to specific reasons – e.g. a pandemic – their policy description should state so. It doesn’t, yet IMG acts as if it did.
I’d give zero stars if I could.

Travel insurance is essential and we always purchase immediately after making a payment on our trip. But please fully understand what you are buying and what coverage is important to your needs
