Although ultimately I did not need to file a claim, when our travel plans were delayed by the airline and I phoned the insurer with questions, I felt as though the customer care representative was dismissive and curt with me.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance
Essential
I selected Nationwide because the wording of their pregnancy/childbirth exclusion was slightly less restrictive than other carriers, and we were going on a "babymoon". Thankfully, we did not have to use it for that, or for the big snowstorm that almost delayed our return. The plan was affordable, and nice to know we were covered.

We had to cancel our trip due to work reasons. Submitting our claim went smoothly and AXA was very fair. It took about two months from requesting the claim form to receiving the payout. Highly recommended!
