I felt the plan was comprehensive and would cover if at my age something would come up to force me to cancel my trip. It also would cover any catastrophic coverage that would supplement my policy to fly me out of the Bush and my personal insurance plan.
I fell in love with Kenya, the people, the animals and the safari so I am looking at ways I can come up with enough money to repeat a similar experience next year and I will again purchase your trip insurance.

Thx. Glad we did not use the insurance. We did inquire about a partial change when terror hit London. Fortunately there were no incidents while we were there.

We had a flight delay (over 4 hours departing LAX) on the first flight leg of our vacation that caused us to miss a connection in Amsterdam and the first day of our trip in Africa. I notified AIG and they assured me that my plan would cover baggage delays and first day expenses. I filed an expense claim for the baggage delay and for the hotel expense on return from our vacation. The on-line claim process was straightforward. I received updates as the claims were processed. Both were accepted without need for further communication.
I'm very satisfied with the AIG Travel plan and will use it for future trips.

Had minor issue with delayed baggage claim, due to how British Airways handled matters upon my arrival in Nairobi. I believe the issue was more with B/A than this insurance carrier, but it was inconvenient and I wasn't fully covered for my loss.

It's very expensive. My friends from the U.K. that I traveled with paid far less. I actually have my own health insurance coverage so some coverage was duplicated.

Thank you very much for your comment. In the United States, the premiums for Comprehensive plans are based on your trip cost, age of traveler and length of trip. Coverage terms and pricing are regulated by the states, so it would not be surprising to find a difference in pricing.Mar 19,2017

We bought this plan because we were required to have insurance and, with limited time for shopping, this seemed to be the going rate and the reviews were largely positive. However, there are better deals available from reputable companies, so I'd shop a little harder next time. The purchase experience was good though and we trusted the plan and the company to work for us if we needed it. Fortunately, we didn't.

Thankfully we did not have to file a claim for our trip to Africa but is was nice knowing that we had protection that others thought was good when claims were necessary. The cost was on the high side but I guess that is the price for "not worrying at night".

I received excellent customer service while purchasing the plan and updating it as my travel plans were arranged. Each time, insuremytrip associates were well informed and very patient in explaining the details of my plan. I had no hiccups during my trip but I felt secure knowing that I had purchased this plan because up until the last minute I was sure I would have to cancel due to a family or work emergency.
