Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
The initial response of the company processing the claim for Nationwide was prompt; however, their response time moved into the unacceptable range over time. It felt as if they were "slow walking" our claim with requests for information that had previously been provided to them. There was even a conversation with a person where they said, "Oh, I guess we missed that."
In the end, it felt like they were delaying the processing of our claim because they could. We did finally receive our money which is why our rating wasn't lower.

We do want you and your fellow customers to be aware that InsureMyTrip offers a Customer Advocate Program. Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing [email protected], explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.
Luckily did not have to use the insurance, but was happy that I had it available as I had a major accident before my trip and the possibility of cancellation was almost certain. However, I had miraculous recovery and was able to take my trip as planned.

Easy, clear coverage explanation. Reasonable additional coverage for any or no reason cancellation. Better any or no reason cancellation percentage than other plans. Gave 4 stars for less than 100% any or no reason refund but Inunderstand that after age 65 there is greater risk. Price is super for scope of coverage overall

I don't know how good it is because, thank goodness, I didn't have to use it! I do think I would have been happier if I had been notified before purchase what system or company the insurance company had contracted with in Morocco and where in the country I could expect to find assistance.

The plan provided my family with the coverage we wanted. Fortunately, I had no need to file a claim, so I don't know how well AIG would have done actually implementing the coverage. I was pleased with the ease of purchase and the informative follow-ups for the coverage.

I paid almost half as much for the insurance as I collected back. That's not a very good ROI. The handler at April was very nice, but it took far too long to get my check. they make money on keeping other people's money

Since the Comprehensive Plan premiums are based on age of traveler, trip cost and length of trip, plans do get more expensive as you get older. However, you were fortunate that your total claim was less than 1000 USD. It would not be unusual for medical expenses to far exceed your policy premium.
