It is crucial to obtain trip insurance if you are going to another country because Medicare does NOT cover outside the USA. One never wants to be without medical insurance. Although we usually have no medical problems with tons of travel, when there is a problem it really matters to know that you have someone to advise, assist, and cover you.

After filing claim, Seven Corners (servicer for AXA) incorrectly sent amount due from summary submitted. It was only after escalating claim (via appeal) was correct "original" amount resolved 3 months later. ...OH and all for a minor medical issue for our daughter... less than $500 (can't imagine what they'd do if it were serious or a major medical issue)

I did not need to file a claim although I was delayed 12 hours. I called CSA from the airport to inquire about coverage and what are my options if would not be compensated by the airline. CSA representative was extremely informative and helpful guiding me exactly what should I do if needed to file a claim. I most certainly would consider CSA policy on my next trip!
