Unfortunately we had to cancel the trip, but prior to final payment. My brother who was traveling with us had a brain tumor and needed surgery. We submitted 22 pages of required validation. Response was slow and they disallowed a charge. We contacted insure my trip who acted on our behalf and we were paid the amount due. My brother’s paper work was lost even though he sent it by mail with tracking so it was received at their office. Ultimately again with insure my trip rep, they decided to use my paper work and the claim was resolved. This company is not good.

The acid test for a plan such as this is what a claims experience is like. Is everything covered as you think? Is it fully covered? How easy is it to file the claim? How promptly is the claim processed? Does the payout seem fair? Etc.
All I can really say is that the purchase of this insurance gave us a good degree of peace of mind regarding a substantial sum of money that was exposed for a fair few months.

We didn't have to use the plan we purchased, but were glad to have it. Kind of hard to critique a plan with out seeing how it really works, but all went well, and we didn't need it.

My mother and I booked a trip to Europe but shortly before we left my mother had an accident so we were unable to go. She used a different Travel Insurance company so I submitted identical paperwork- doctors letters, confirmations, cancellations, credit card details, etc - to both companies. My mother’s company sent her a refund check within a month with no further need of proof of documentation. Nationwide sent me more emails asking for identical paperwork, letters of cancellation and other information which I had already sent. Weeks later I received a check but I did not get the full refund I was entitled to as they deducted amounts I had paid. As it had taken so much time I accepted the final amount offered but will definitely be using the other Travel Insurance company in the future.
