I always buy travel insurance but first time actually filing a claim. Reps on the phone were really hepful and patient as I explained my situation and clearly answered questions about coverage, what claims I needed to file, etc. Due to family member's sickness, one person was unable to travel at all, and I had to delay my trip and join family a few days later, so I ended up filing both interruption and cancellation claims. Online claims process was pretty straightforward. Took me a litle while to gather all the paperwork but what they asked for made sense (e.g. MD note, proof of purchase, cancellation policy, etc.) It took about a month to process my claims and they were both approved straight away, with $ deposited immediately to my accout via Zelle. After reading about horror stories of people struggling with their claims, I'm happy to report that it was a quick and easy experience for us.

It was very easy to obtain the coverage for our trip. The site was user friendly. Fortunately we did not have any need to use the insurance but having the peace of mind to enjoy the trip knowing we were covered was well worth it.

Purchased land arrangements then 12 days later purchased airfare. Understood financial default covered if purchase within 10 days of initial purchase and within 10 days of any additional arrangements purchased, so figured whole trip cost covered. After all, couldn't purchase for full amount until after got air fare to get there. Land supplier defaulted & stole our money. Filed claim. Twice they said they hadn't received my claim documents. Third time they decided I should have purchased within 10 day sof land arrangements, then somehow amended my purchase to add the airfare after I purchased it, & so denied default claim for land arrangements. Policy language certainly misleading, & I've been a lawyer for 42 years so if I didn't understand it...how could a non-lawyer? I won't purchase a Nationwide policy ever again.

I purchased insurance with this company and a few months later i had to cancel my trip due to a new job. I turned in all my documents and had copies to find out 3 months later that they claim they didn’t receive! I resent the documents to wait 2 more months to be told that I was eligible for a refund! Then to top it off you will only talk to a foreigner… NO Americans!! The representative that I spoke to was also rude!! I wouldn’t recommend buying insurance from this company because they will NOT give you your money back!!

It took 2.5 months for HTH/ Nationwide to completely process travel/quarantine claim for trip in February, 2023. It wasn’t until I filed a claim with Illinois Dept of Insurance and customer service at Insure My Trip that I finally got reimbursed claim settled.
