AIG Travel Travel Guard Gold
We bought the AIG Travel Guard Gold because we were told it was the only one that would cover a relation in hospice. My mother, being 100 years old, was in hospice care due to her age and weakening, not a specific disease. So we bought this insurance which was more expensive a few times before she died.

We did not have to make a claim so I can't really comment on whether I was satisfied with the plan. That is where the rubber meets the road and the only test of a plan that really counts.

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector Lite
In lieu of coming home from our trip due to a heart attack of an immediate family member, we opted to orchestrate her care with family members via cell phone calls and texts.
Imagine our surprise when we contacted C & F Travel and asked for reimbursement for these expenses, and we were told they would not be covered. Also, we were told "heart attack by mother" does not necessarily guarantee coverage. Should we have canceled a portion of our trip, they would "review" the case. What exactly IS covered???? Make sure you ask LOTS of questions before enrolling.

    The C+F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector Lite plan covers Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption due to an unforeseen medical emergency of you, a travel companion, family member, or business partner. Trip Interruption reimburses the unused, pre-paid and nonrefundable trip cost and the difference in airfare for returning home early per the advice of a physician.

    One of the main reasons that an insurance company cannot guarantee a successful claim is because of the pre-existing condition exclusion. A “Pre-Existing Condition” means an illness, disease, or other condition during the 60 day period immediately prior to the date your coverage is effective for which you or your traveling companion, business partner or a family member received or received a recommendation for a test, examination, medical treatment or a new or changed prescription.

HTH Worldwide Trip Protector Classic
My wife and I had a complicated 16 day independent travel itinerary-- Boston to London, to Dubrovnik, to Florence, to Amsterdam, to London and back to Boston. We had never bought travel insurance before, but with recent health issues and an itinerary that involved many changes, in airlines and hotels, having the insurance relieved the stress of possible unexpected expenses and made the anniversary trip completely enjoyable. Though nothing went wrong, the premium was a worthwhile price to pay for peace of mind.

We were not dissatisfied with the plan nor were we satisfied. Not possible to assign a rating to satisfaction as we did not have to use the service. The cost seems relatively high and I do wish there was a clause for "pet issues" So we do not have to determine whether to leave a dying pet or lose a large amount of money. Thank you for asking.
