We unfortunately missed the first day of our cruise due to our flight being cancelled due to an airport workers strike. The insurance claim processing was straight forward and they were very prompt on processing our claim. I will definately use them for our next trip. You always hope that nothing happens to delay your trip, but having an insurance company that is straightforward to deal with and prompt with a fair resolution gives you a lot of peace of mind when travelling.

Generali Global Assistance Standard
It gave us great peace of mind having the Global Assistance plan I wouldn't leave the country without it. Global Assistance covers way more then the Cruise ship or River Cruise policies and when your older you need this extra protection!! We always buy travel insurance from Generali Global Assistance!!!

I am a caregiver for my Mom who is 90. Once a year I take a vacation, because I really need it. Having good trip insurance is essential, because I never know if I will need to cancel or reschedule my trip. I have used Insure my Trip for my three trips to Europe since 2013. Although I have not executed any claims , It gives a person better security. On this last recent trip, I was on the fence about canceling three days before leaving. I did not have to cancel or interrupt my trip , but it was a possibility.
Thank You for providing additional peace of mind , for the ones who have to care for others, before we can go !

AIG Travel Travel Guard Gold
Though I did not need to use the plan, there were problems the week prior to my arrival with to much snowfall , with roads and railroad shut down and avalanche threats. People at resort were stranded there and other skiers looking to get in were in able to get into town. It was nice knowing if I was to be rerouted that I would have been reimbursed for my loss.

Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection ExactCare Value
This plan cost twice what we paid another carrier last year, but we needed coverage and the other carrier changed its age limit. I felt we were penalized by Berkshire for being elderly. Wonder if Mr. Buffett is aware of this.

Well here is the thing - we didn't use the insurance, some it's hard to say how good is. The packages sounds good, and seems to cover what we might need. On our trip we had three occasions where I was relieved I had purchased the insurance. On our way to Europe, our flight was severely delayed and we missed our connection in Paris. Thankfully there was a flight just an hour later, so we were fine. Next, we had an event at the Eiffel Tower where it was evacuated because of a crazy person with a knife. Had something happened to us, the insurance would have come in handy. Then on our return trip, again in Paris, the terminal was evacuated because of a bomb scare. That ended up being chaotic, but we still made our flight and all of our luggage arrived safely too. The upshot is, travel isn't what it used to be. It's a good idea to get coverage if you plan on going anywhere these days. A lot of crackpots out there are looking to disrupt daily life. Don't let them. If thy do manage, have your coverage ready so you're not stuck somewhere.

Fortunately, I did not have to use the insurance. It was a comfort to know that I had it in case of an emergency. Just like car and house insurance, you hope you never have to use it.

On a one in a lifetime trip our family of six was without luggage for 5 days. We tried to make the most of it and didn't know when or if we would get our clothes and hygiene products back. We didn't purchase much to replace our things but we're later told we don't compensate for inconvenience just what you buy to replace. We learned!

    You did have Baggage Delay coverage on this plan under the following terms, which can be found in your certificate:

    'We will pay You for the expense of replacing necessary personal effects, up to the maximum shown on the Schedule of Benefits, if Your Checked Baggage is delayed or misdirected by a Common Carrier for more than 12 hours, while on a Covered Trip, except for travel to final destination or place of residence.
    You must be a ticketed passenger on a Common Carrier. All claims must be verified by the Common Carrier who must certify the delay or misdirection and receipts for the purchase or replacement of necessary personal effects must accompany any claim.'
