Since I did not need to file a claim for a loss I cannot comment on any claim process. I am thankful this was the case and trust that should I have needed to file a claim I would have had financial recourse for any loss. I feel better when traveling to have some type of travel insurance in force. I have purchased coverage from AIG previously and feel they are a reputable company.

I did not have to use it but felt relieved on my trip having the coverage. Another couple on our river cruise in Europe got a call in the middle of the night for a medical emergency at home and had to abruptly leave the vessel and get to the nearest airport. I do not know the circumstances but felt at ease about being protected.

The copies of our coverage, insurance ID's for baggage and wallet, and well wishes just before our trip, were all firsts for me in the area of travel insurance.
