We had to cancel our trip on March 2nd due to illness. This was at the beginning of the Covid 19 pandemic. It took a few weeks longer than usual for the claim to start being processed (which was very understandable). But once the agent opened the case, the process took about a week to complete. Then once fully approved, we received a check for the full amount of insurance claim in 3 days. Outstanding service!

I want to rate the plan and my satisfaction a 5, but am uncomfortable doing so without having to file a claim.I would feel better qualified to give a 5 star rating that may influence the decisions of others if I had implemented the plan as presented. I would definitely recommend not traveling without extra insurance especially if someone is traveling outside their native country. The plan I chose had everything I was looking for and I was pleased with the price. Having the extra insurance definitely gave me peace of mind while traveling.

You purchased this policy on November 11, 2017. AIG Travel Guard denied your premium refund because your policy cancellation request was received outside your 15 day review period:
"FIFTEEN DAY LOOK: You may cancel this insurance by giving the Company or the agent written notice within the first to occur of the following: (a) 15 days from the Effective Date of your
insurance; or (b) your Scheduled Departure Date. If you do this,
the Company will refund your premium paid provided no insured has filed a claim under this Certificate."
In the future, you can contact us at InsureMyTrip prior to your original departure date so we can help you transfer the policy to a new trip.Apr 25,2018

I can not say if it was a good plan or bad. The problem with this is that I did not know what a typical level of protection would consist of. For instance, what would it cost to be Medically Evacuated to the US from Costa Rica - I have no idea, so is $1,000,000 correct or would $50,000 be good enough? If I don't know, I would tend to "Over Insure" myself which wastes money if it is not used. However, if I "Under Insure" myself I am left with a huge burden which I may not be able to financially recover from. But I believe this is what the Insurance Companies want, since most will "Over Insure".
