AIG was excellent. We purchased this policy for a cruise, mainly to insure against the astronomical cost of a possible helicopter evacuation at sea. My wife had a medical emergency off the Mexican coast and we had to disembark in port for surgery. We are on Medicare, which covers nothing outside the U.S. Our Mutual of Omaha supplemental policy paid for 80 percent of the medical. The AIG policy covered all the rest. Both claims were handled very quickly. This was medical insurance only. The AIG policy did not cover any cost of returning to the U.S. or the cruise. However, this was a very affordable plan and satisfied our needs.

Selecting and purchasing a plan was easy; price seemed reasonable for the coverage and was a better value than plans offered by competitors. Website was user friendly. Always glad when it isn’t necessary to file a claim!

I ended up getting norovirus on our cruise, and the insurance covered charges from the cruise ship medical center. It took some time to process the claim, but they covered everything.

While I didn't need or use my AIG Travel policy, I felt peace of mind that I had the policy. I highly recommend travel insurance for anyone especially if your vacation is expensive and/or a long ways off.
