Having this trip insurance made us feel protected. The cost seems high but if you need it it is probably money well spent. We have a separate year around travel medical policy and would prefer to not have to include travel medical in our trip insurance.

The representative who helped me on the phone was very professional, friendly, informative, and answered all my questions. As a RN I know how your health can be a changing dynamic event while traveling. While I didn't file a claim, (yea!) I felt reassured that I had the support of a great company with me during my travels in Italy. Thank you!

The plan was good and I especially appreciated the customer assistance in helping me select a plan. My one reservation was that it did not waive preexisting conditions because I did not know I had to purchase the insurance when I made my deposit, not before my final payment. Previously, that was not the rule. It would have been difficult to do because I didn't know at deposit time whether I would actually take the trip. So it didn't cover risk of elderly parents going to hospital while we were gone and that was one of my biggest concerns.

Due to a death in the family ,we had to cancel our trip less than 1 week prior to departure. We filed our claim on May 30, & received our refund June 21st...every penny! They made the process completely painless & provided us with all of the forms immediately. Be sure to follow their instructions completely, if you have any questions, their phone reps give you answers, it takes no time to speak to a live person! We will be dealing with Travel Guard in the future!

Lost a wallet to a pickpocket but found no coverage for this loss which cost me several hundred dollars in international roaming phone calls and a new wallet. Otherwise gave us peace of mind.
