My wife and I are on Medicare, which does not provide coverage outside of the USA. Even though both of us are in relatively good health, the price of this plan was very reasonable so we purchased it for peace of mind. The medical evacuation feature of this plan was the main reason for its purchase. Thankfully, we did not need to use any of the plan features.

In the future, if you do not file a claim against the policy, are within the review period (10-15 days), and contact us prior to your scheduled departure date, most plans will allow you to cancel the policy and will refund the premium. Some travel insurance providers will retain a small non-refundable service fee, usually between $5-8 dollars.Nov 20,2015

Insurance is at its best when you don't need to use it. While I was very satisfied with the peace of mind the AIG Travel Guard Basic plan gave me, I would have been fine with no insurance policy. As everyone knows the test of this type of policy is when you do have to use it.

Like most coverages, one cannot tell whether the plan was satisfactory as we never filed a claim, but your Reps were most helpful answering any questions re: coverages, etc. We felt the premium costs were reasonable for what we were offered, Like all insurance, we bought it in the hopes of never using it---IT WORKED!!!
