AIG Travel Travel Guard Gold
I purchased the coverage in case of an ice/snow storm that may have prevented travel out of North Carolina. That sometimes happens in January-March. Luckily, I did not have to use it for the day of travel but as things happen two days before leaving we received 10 inches of snow. The trip to the airport was ice covered and slow, but we made it. The plane was delayed because of a deicing issue, but we were able to get to our destination as planned! The coverage of the insurance assured, peace of mind surrounding my financial outlay.

Well ... I can say this ! Thank God I didn’t have to make a claim ( or someone on my behalf), cause I wouldn’t be around to spend the money... but like most people say, it was peace of mind. Worth the price.

All my claims were fully covered, even the medical Rx's incurred after we had our emergency return from the trip. Airline costs, medical costs, and lost vacation days due to our illness all covered and paid in full.

Upon landing in PHL, I noticed that United had smashed my double hardcase Sporttube. While there was no damage to the skis, the case was ruined. United wrote up a claim but would only offer me a $75 voucher. I only use frequent flier milage when flying United so the voucher was of no use to me and didn't even cover half of what a new Sporttube would cost. After trying multiple times to reach a representative in United who could help me, I turned to AIG. Their response was courteous and in short time they refunded me the entire cost of the double Sporttube. I will definitely use them again on any of my trips and I would recommend them to any travelers, especially those flying United.

One of the other great things about my experience with Travel Guard was the Customer Service. The various representatives I spoke with were always courteous and friendly, took the time to explain everything and answer all my questions. Nowadays, Customer Service goes a long way in customer satisfaction, and Travel Guard gave me one of the best Customer Service experiences I've had. It's also nice that they don't have innumerable computer-generated menus (just a very few) you have to go through before you reach a representative. Good Job Travel Guard! Thanks for the great service.

AIG Travel Travel Guard Basic
It was 2 1/2 months before the claim was paid which I thought was extremely slow. I felt like the claims reps were more interested in not paying the claim than paying it. Finally the claim was paid in full so it turned out OK.
