This plan offers optional coverage upgrades for baggage and certain activities such as mountaineering, aviation, hang gliding, skydiving, parachuting and bungee jumping.

Didn't have to make any claims, thankfully, so can't rate on that portion. I will say that I use this site now every time I travel internationally for medical coverage since Medicare will not cover anything outside the US. It gives me peace of mind for traveling in case the need would ever arise. The cost is reasonable and the purchase process is very easy.

I was disappointed that no one called me back when I mistakenly put the wrong return home date on the contract which I wanted to correct before we departed, as I had left a recorded message to extend our coverage to cover two more weeks because we are still in Peru now with no coverage.

I purchased this plan as I needed medical/medevac insurance for a recent trip to Ecuador. When purchasing online, the plan seemed to cover what was necessary. Since I did not need to use it, I can’t comment on how well it helped (in case of an incident). I would buy this plan again, and hope that I would,not need it!

never had to use it so I don't know how they are when you have to file a claim, but it's good to know I had insurance that covered the things I wanted to do in South America that were a little extreme

Thank you very much for your comments. However, we would like to advise your fellow travelers reading this review that you chose to purchase the optional Adventure Sports Rider which provided coverage for many sports activities that would otherwise be excluded under this plan, such as:
(c) participation in professional athletic events, motor sport
or motor racing, including training or practice for the same;
(d) mountaineering where ropes or guides are normally used. The ascent or descent of a mountain requiring the use of specialized equipment, including but not limited to pick-axes, anchors, bolts, crampons, carabineers and
lead or top-rope anchoring equipment;
(f) operating or learning to operate any aircraft, as student,
pilot or crew (does not apply if Adventure Sports
Coverage is purchased);
(g) air travel on any air-supported device, other than a regularly scheduled airline or air charter company...
All plans have exclusions that vary between plans and even states. Your fellow travelers should always review the Certificate that is included in each quote or call Customer Care at (800) 487-4722 if they have questions on activities that may be excluded under a plan.May 20,2016

It was reasonably priced and easy to get on line. However, I didn't need to use it. It also seemed to cover a lot.
I just needed the evacuation insurance as my medical insurance covered the hospital and medical care.
