This plan offers optional coverage upgrades for baggage and certain activities such as mountaineering, aviation, hang gliding, skydiving, parachuting and bungee jumping.

I already have. If you can afford to take a trip "across the pond", you can afford to insure for things that might "go bad". We chose the evacuation insurance, because it is really expensive to have to fly back suddenly due to unforeseen circumstances. Happily we did not need to make a claim, but we knew we would be protected if we did.

Since I had no medical issue during my travels, I don't know if or how well the plan would have served me. However, I did want to be covered and believed the coverage was adequate for my needs if I had had an issue. This plan compared favorably to what my travel company offered for a fraction of the price.

I had a potential issue while in Paris. I called Travel Guard. Excellent customer service and knowledgable staffer. In the end, I did not use the insurance, but it gave me great peace of mind to know it was available. By the way, it was a dental problem. I'm in the dental field and have excellent dental health, so ... You just never know!

Delighted to find a plan that met my needs for medical expenses abroad, but not the other usual travails of travel. Visiting another country without being a member of their health insurance plan is a bit scary.
