In my professional life, I am a flight physician on medevac flights for repatriation of patients who have gotten ill/injured while away on vacation, so I see the benefit these policies have in expediting their repatriation and speedy return to a level of care needed to treat them.

My husband & I fortunately never had to use this coverage. We have signed on to it several times. The reason has been, our Daughter had to use it a few years ago in Europe on one of her children and highly recommended it to us.

Initially, the claim was denied, but Insure my Trip contacted them for us and they reconsidered and paid. What I learned from this is - read your plan and do not believe what a representative tells you on the phone when you are calling in regarding a medical problem. . They only honor what is written in their plan.

I did not have to use the plan even though I was stung by a scorpion. It was not poisonous and even though we met with an ambulance, I was not charged. I am now in Florida staying with my younger son and his wife for a month, I am fine. Thanks for enquirering.

We did not use this plan because we had no issues, but it was well worth the $93 for peace of mind. Medicare does not pay out of the US, so it was a must to have. One of our group (38 year old) had to be hospitalized for an infection for 2 days- so u never know when something will happen!

Like most we didn't have to use the AIG Travel Travel Guard MedEvac Plan on our ski trip to Tahoe, but it was reassuring to have and reasonable.
