AIG Travel Guard allowed my son to attend the Naval Academy on the east coast for 1 week summer session without worrying about what we would do if he got sick or injured. We live on the west coast. Thanks.

I had a potential issue while in Paris. I called Travel Guard. Excellent customer service and knowledgable staffer. In the end, I did not use the insurance, but it gave me great peace of mind to know it was available. By the way, it was a dental problem. I'm in the dental field and have excellent dental health, so ... You just never know!

We got this plan again because on a previous trip we had coverage and my husband filed a claim and it was quickly reviewed and paid. Seems a bit pricey but offers peace of mind.

While I did get sick during my trip, I had friends who took me to their personal doctor - twice - but it was covered; so I did not need to file a claim.

I saved myself about $200. I was mainly interested in the Medical part of Travel Insurance, but the rest of the insurance is good to have also. Then on a hunch, I checked my Chase Credit Card and found that one of the benefits offered was travel insurance. I compared Chases free Travel Insurance with what was offered online and found it was pretty much the same coverage, only lacking in Medical Coverage. I looked up Medical Coverage and found that this company had a very low price with excellent ratings. I called them to be sure that it also included air lifting my wife or me to the nearest American hospital. The representative said it would cover up to $50,000. Needless to say we never needed it, but it felt good that an accident or illness wouldn't bankrupt us.
