The AIG Travel Travel Guard Gold plan offers mid-level coverage and more options than Travel Guard Basic and Travel Guard Silver, allowing you to customize the plan to best fit your needs. In addition to Trip Cancellation, this plan offers Cancel for Any Reason coverage and a Pre-Existing Conditions Waiver. Children age 17 and under are free when there is at least one covered adult on the plan.

I have used TravelGuard 13 times for foreign travel in the last 12 years. Until now, I have never needed to file a claim. On this trip, American cancelled my flight to London and booked me on another flight, arriving 4 hours late, causing me to miss my connecting flight at LHR. I had to book a later flight on British Airways, which set me back several hundred dollars (unexpectedly). I filed a claim in late September 2016 when I got back. It took about 2 months for the claim to be processed, but it was handled correctly and I was reimbursed. Definitely recommend Travel Guard Gold.

Fortunately we did not have to make a claim, but we had peace of mind knowing we were well-covered if anything had happened. As we and our family members get older, and also because we take more adventurous trips, we routinely get travel insurance for every trip.
