So sad that we had to cancel our trip but happy we had this policy. I filed my claim on September 17 and my claim was finalized on October 12 with an electronic deposit to my checking account. I feel the claim would have even been settled faster but our travel supplier was slow in supplying certain documentation. I had to call Allianz a couple of times with questions and the representatives I spoke with were helpful and courteous.

As an independent traveler, I don't have a lot of unrefundable costs. However, I might have an injury or illness and need to go home early (it has happened). Through InsureMyTrip I was able to get a well-priced policy to cover just my needs. I will continue to use them and to recommend them..

Very easy in every regard. We travel to Europe every year, and have been taking out this same insurance plan for years.
Once, I did nave a minor accident in Europe- -hit by an opening door that broke a front tooth--had it fixed there and got a prompt claim settlement when we returned to the USA.
Rare to find good , dependable and responsive service like this. We highly recommend this insurance entity.

I am in the process of filing a complaint with the Texas Department of Insurance. On June 20, I fell and fractured my pelvis in Paris. I was told that I did not need surgery, should lie down as much as possible, was given pain medication and released from the hospital that evening. On June 25, I contacted Allianz and requested that they upgrade me to business class for my flight home on July 1. I expeditiously supplied all information and documents Allianz requested. As of the date of my request, there were still business first seats available on my and my family’s return flight to Dallas. Notwithstanding that this request should have been a no-brainer and despite repeated pleas by me that they provide the requested upgrade, Allianz failed and refused to make a decision until 12 hours before my flight was due to leave, at which point there were no first or business class seats available. I was told that my choices were to wait around until at least July 3 (paying for the additional hotel nights myself), without any of my family to assist me during that period or I could “make my own arrangements.” Under the circumstances, I had no choice but to fly home on July 1 on my original coach ticket. I am now in an acute care nursing facility. Allianz failure to timely deal with my request for a covered service was a deliberate “running out of the clock” in order to avoid paying a legitimate claim.

Although the plan met my needs, in the interum my credit card supplier now offers similar coverage. So I likely won't be using the plan unless the cost of the trip greatly exceeds the amount offered by the credit card.

With the exception of poor communication with Allianz telephone agents, I am satisfied. I had to call Allianz to ask why all of my claims hadn't reimbursed. After very poor, uninformed agent response, I finally reached someone who was able to help me. I was told that my forms were illegible. In fact they had received the originals and the problem was due to Allianz's internal scans. Why no one let me know of this problem remains a mystery. The last agent was able to obtain legible scans and has informed me that I will be reimbursed. I've not yet received those reimbursements, but expect to receive them today or tomorrow.

We were very fortunate, that we had no delays, missed flights or lost luggage for this trip to Europe. We went on a river cruise & one couples luggage didn't arrive for 6 days. The airline knew the luggage was in Amsterdam but made no attempts to get luggage to customers sooner. Another couple on a past trip fell on slippery cobble stones from rain & wife broke wrist & elbow on opposite arms. Required surgery & 13K to pay before leaving hospital. Several other couples with lost luggage for shorter periods on this trip also. None of the couples mentioned had insurance.
We have had delays over 24 hrs, lost luggage up to 3 months, etc on past trips. air travel today is so "Not fun" that chances are greater that something is going to happen eventually. we never took out insurance in the past but now we do, just worth it to know assistance is available if you need it.
