I did not need to file a claim because my trip went as planned with no glitches. Still, it was a good idea to buy travel insurance since the trip was expensive and I had to make a commitment four months in advance.

Bag was delayed and had to stay at hotel while waiting for bag to arrive. My trip home was interrupted home and supposedly hotel is not covered by baggage delay. Unbelievably disappointed.

    Thank you for your feedback on the policy. We are sorry to learn that your luggage was delayed on your return home. It is true that neither Baggage Delay or Travel Delay benefits would cover the cost of an unexpected hotel stay due to delayed luggage.

    The Allianz Global Assistance Basic plan reimburses up to 200 USD for the purchase of reasonable essential items for you to use until your baggage arrives if your common carrier, hotel or tour operator delays your baggage for 24 hours or more. You must report the loss and file a claim with the common carrier, hotel or tour operator.
