This plan cost twice what we paid another carrier last year, but we needed coverage and the other carrier changed its age limit. I felt we were penalized by Berkshire for being elderly. Wonder if Mr. Buffett is aware of this.

Thank you for providing feedback on this policy.

Each Company will base the premiums of their plans by 3 main factors; (1) the ages of the travelers, (2) the length of your trip from home to home and (3) the total cost of your pre-paid trip cost. As the traveler's ages change, trip costs increase or the length of the trip is extended, the prices will also change accordingly.

Please feel free to give us a call when you plan your next trip. We have licensed representatives available 7 days a week who can help find the best policy for you, at the lowest premium. We can be reached at 1-800-487-4722.

Had to file a claim because Irma destroyed our destination. Claims process was very easy, they sent me the claim form and a list of items to provide showing our losses. The list was in no way cumbersome, and I easily provided the documentation they needed. Once I submitted the claim, the money was deposited into my bank account within 3 days. Very pleased and I've purchased the same policy again for our replacement trip.

Even though we did not have to use our trip insurance coverage we felt very safe and secure during our trip. We definitely will use them again on our next trip.

I had a claim - I had to return early due to family illness. I started a claim w/ Berkshire Hathaway and rep sounded OK. Then I got their emailed long list of 13 Dr. statements, ID copies, consent forms, hotel receipts, cancellation policy of the airline[s], ticket copies, ticket numbers, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. they needed before they could begin to review my claim.

It would have taken me hours to get all this material together, if I could of at all. I would guess this is a technique they use to minimize payouts. I feel it would be a waste of my time to try to collect everything they wanted.

I thought one of Warren's companies would be better than this!!! Interesting dichotomy - ins. companies want to sell policies, but then they don't want to pay....

MATERIAL THEY WANTED:

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. We are sorry that you were dissatisfied with your claim experience. It is industry standard for an insurance provider to require documentation to substantiate a claim. We understand that this can be a frustrating process, but we do want you and your fellow customers to be aware that InsureMyTrip offers a Customer Advocate Program. Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing customercare@insuremytrip.com, explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.

Set up was easy for my cruise but when I came back to plug in flight details the system did not function. Chats did not help and phone reps could not put in the basic flight details. Forced to dictate the flight details to phone rep to be on record. Frustrating and time consuming!
