The only issue I encountered was when I decided to extend my trip by spending a week in Florida after our cruise. The coverage couldn't be extended nor was I allowed to purchase new coverage because I was already on a trip. We didn't have any problems and didn't need to file a claim so I cannot comment about the insurance itself. It would've been nice if the plan had allowed some flexibility.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. You raise a terrific point that travelers should be aware of: Amendments to comprehensive policies can only be made prior to departure. This rule is not exclusive to Travel Insured, it is an industry standard. On this policy and the majority of comprehensive plans, if the covered trip is delayed in returning home for a listed reason, protection will automatically extend to the earlier of: the date you arrive home or seven days after the original return date. Also keep in mind, if an international trip is voluntarily extended, several travel medical plans will still be available for purchase during the trip.Jul 10,2014

Fortunately, I never had to use it on this trip but I always insure my trips with InsureMyTrip and have never had a problem. Even when cancelling a $4000 Transatlantic cruise less than a week before for medical reasons.

Our son broke his leg 18 days before our cruise. Absolutely no hassles or problems with claim and receiving reimbursement. HIGHLY recommend InsureMyTrip for insurance coverage! We re-booked for February vacation and just returned. We used InsureMyTrip insurance again for that trip!

Unfortunately, our family had to cancel our cruise at the last minute when my child was admitted to the hospital. Fortunately for us, Travel Insured came through quickly. Within five weeks of our first contact with them, we had the check in hand for a full refund. While I wish that we had not had to cancel our trip, it was reassuring to have not lost the money. I would highly recommend Travel Insured and will use them in the future.
