The peace of mind that this policy gave my wife and I was well worth the cost. I am very happy we did not need to file a claim but when I broke my hip two months before we were schedule to go it was something to worry about. Luckily I recovered enough that we could go on the cruise with no problems. But having this insurance was a comfort while I worked on regaining my mobility.

Unfortunately, like most insurance, this policy only served me while I paid the premium, not when I needed the coverage. The company managed to find a loophole in my coverage for the airfare and took advantage of a simple human error that common sense had it been applied would not have excluded me from coverage. The company totally ignored one part of the claim that was not even addressed. I'm hoping insuremytrip can advocate for me in standing behind the products you recommend to us.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. The following response has been issued by Travel Insured:
"We apologize if you have experienced anything less than 100 percent customer satisfaction. In regards the claim, our policies state that if your travel supplier cancels your trip, a benefit will be paid for the reissue fee charged by the airline for the tickets. You must have covered the entire cost of your trip including the airfare cost. Since the entire trip cost was not covered, and since there was no change fee as there are no plans to use the airline tickets, those benefits are not payable. We want to assure you that members of our Customer Care and Claims Department and are always readily available to our customers to answer any questions you may have, and they can be reached at 1-800-243-2440. My dilemma was that while I was at sea on a two week cruise my mother got quite ill. The paper which I had with me did not detail the policy, and I had no internet access. In other words, should I have needed to abort my trip I had no idea who was responsible for what. Fortunately, I did not need to return, but had anxiety about it.

Your policy gets emailed to you within 24hours from purchase. The confirmation from InsureMyTrip.com (emailed within 15 minutes of purchase) does have emergency contact claims information.Nov 27,2012

The coverage was great for my trip and the payment was very fair when my baggage was lost only complaint is that there was no communication of how the investigation into my claim was going or even if it was received until a check came in the mail. But I would use you guys again for my next trip.

Each Company will base the premiums of their plans on 3 main factors; (1) the ages of the travelers, (2) the length of your trip from home to home and (3) the total cost of your pre-paid trip cost.
