I bought this plan for a trip to Ecuador in January that had to be delayed due to a covid outbreak in Ecuador. I really appreciate that it was re-instated, without extra charges, for my trip in April when the covid in Ecuador had dropped dramatically. Subsequently, my husband and I were able to test negative for covid for our return trip to the USA. Thanks for your co-operation.

We filed two separate claims arising out of the same trip and were very pleased with the response from Travel Insured.
First, a few days before our trip, one of the airlines in our itinerary rescheduled our connecting flight to depart several hours later, which would have caused us to lose half a day of our trip. We re-booked the connecting flight onto an earlier flight on another airline, but had to pay more than $500 extra due to differences in fares. We submitted a claim for reimbursement of the fare differential. I am a lawyer and saw that the policy contained some exclusionary language that Travel Insured could have tried to use to deny our claim, so I did not hold out much hope that the company would pay the claim. To my surprise and to Travel Insured's credit, it was not a stickler about the policy language and just paid the claim.
Second, the day we left for our trip, a flight made an emergency landing at the airport out of which we were flying. The airport shut down for several hours, which resulted in cascading delays throughout the rest of the day. Our flight was delayed by more than six hours, we missed our connecting flight, and we ended up arriving for our vacation a day late. Travel Insured reimbursed us for a non-refundable hotel night that we missed at our destination, as well as for the hotel and meal expenses we incurred in the connecting city in which we were stranded overnight by the flight delay.
I most certainly would use Travel Insured again.

I had two flight issues on this trip and plan to process some claims. I just returned late Sunday and am still catching up, as I am hosting a workshop in my home this weekend.
I called your office on the 20th and was told my plan didn't cover getting me home. What? I bought a plan for the whole trip. I was also told, I had to process any claims myself first and you were a secondary choice. You basically are NO help. I will never buy from you again.
I did read the policy before I left and again after my first flight issue. The "small print" policy would take a really experienced travel who has learned by error or an attorney to see what is missing.
An expensive ripe off.
I will be contacting a supervisor next week or after I have submitted claims to Avianca.

Thankfully nothing went amiss during our recent week-long cruise of the Galapagos Islands and we did not have to file a claim. It was reassuring to know, however, that we were insured against a variety of possibilities. Customer service is spectacular, and answered our questions in a prompt and courteous manner. We will call you you the next time we plan our travel.
