Thankfully I had no reason to file a claim so I do not have much to comment.
Having the insurance - just in case - gave us peace. I wish the rates were lower or that a rebate could be given when the benefits are unused.

We purchased this plan because we were taking a cruise during the time of hurricane season. Dorian came through but fortunately for us it didn’t affect our travels. It was a nice peace of mind to know we were covered if something did happen.

I bought what I thought was a fair coverage for what I needed. Calling the customer care number was easy and the rep asked a few questions to make sure I had enough coverage for me. Didn't feel she was trying to push me to buy something more expensive. Just what I needed.

I can't say if I was satisfied with this plan because, luckily, I didn't have to file a claim. However, we found the cost staggeringly high

The term "staggeringly high" is a relative term that can mean different things to different people. My policy was about 5% of the cost of the Trip. When I added the maximum Accidental Death for Flight Catastrophe, I voluntarily increased it to about 10% of my trip. To me, this is a reasonable cost. Insurance is always purchased with the hope and expectation that it is never used, but with the peace of mind knowing that it is there if needed. I paid more to the policy for the million in life insurance for flight.Nov 14,2014
