We had no problems so the plan was fine! It did provide a sense of security since Lufthansa was in a potential strike situation, so we were happy to have the insurance.

Insurance is best if you don't have to use it. Didn't have a claim so I am happy. Time limit from booking date to exempt pre-existing condition is annoying. You do not immediately think of insurance when booking your reservation, especially if you use miles.

I had some damage to a computer that had to be checked at the airplane door due to lack of room on the plane for carry-on luggage. Didn't know about the computer damage until I got home. Neither the airline or the insurance company was able to provide help in getting it repaired.

We did experience travel issues & delays, but it turned out nothing was actually covered by the plan. We experienced a train delay of 2 hours that resulted in our missing a pre-paid, non-refundable tour (about $200) and we also ended up losing an entire day out of our itinerary due to the time it took us to travel to the location and then return. Because the delay that caused the cascading effect was only 2 hours, we were not covered for any reimbursement. We also experienced a 2 1/2 day baggage delay on our return trip, but that leg of the journey is apparently not covered. So despite the hassle, wasted time, missing medication, etc...we didn't receive anything for that issue either. I wouldn't waste the money on this type of insurance again, unless it actually covered some of those 'smaller items' too. Unless you had to cancel the trip entirely or unless someone dies, its not really worth it.

No benefit is needed for baggage delay at return destination as you are most likely home and have other items to tide you over. The purpose of baggage delay portion of policy is to reimburse for having to purchase things while actually on the trip away from home.Nov 14,2014

We are sorry that you experienced this train delay during you tour and baggage delay during your return home. However, the printed terms and conditions of our Worldwide Trip Protector plan state the requirement of a 6-hour delay for Trip Delay coverage to take effect. Additionally, Baggage Delay benefits are designed to cover replacement of personal necessities when baggage is delayed by common carrier during outbound travel or during segments of your onward journey, but does not include coverage for the return trip to home or your final destination ending the trip. We encourage all customers to review details of their plan when making their insurance purchase and contact our customer care department with any questions about their coverage. All our plans come with a 14-day “free look†allowing you to notify us in writing that you want to cancel the plan for a full refund, minus a small service change, if you do so within 14 days of the plan effective date or before your departure date, whichever comes first.
