One of the participants in our group fell face forward while walking to one of our destinations. She was seen at a walk-in clinic and fortunately no major injuries were found. Although her facial injuries were evident and she was "shaken up" for a couple of days, she decided to continue with the trip. However, that experience brought home the need to have insurance.

We were not dissatisfied with the plan nor were we satisfied. Not possible to assign a rating to satisfaction as we did not have to use the service. The cost seems relatively high and I do wish there was a clause for "pet issues" So we do not have to determine whether to leave a dying pet or lose a large amount of money. Thank you for asking.

The claims representative was Outstanding. I liked your plan that we purchased. I did not read it in detail as to coverage and exclusions. I was not aware that different air fare is not covered due to interruption of a trip due to injury. For example we flew to Croatia using Economy fare. Because of severe injury to my wife's shoulder, we flew back to US using Business class as she had to lay flat. We got reimbursed for the Economy value fare-almost $3,000 vs almost $8,000.
I still liked your policy and have recommended you to our friends who also visited Croatia. Fortunately they did not have to file claim but gave them a peace of mind.

the cost for coverage that you don't use is waaaay too much!! You should offer 20% refund if you don't have to use the coverage!!

"Thank you for your review. On average, a travel insurance policy costs between 4 to 10 percent of your total trip cost. In this instance, it was a little more than 4 percent, which is on the lower end. We are sorry to not have met your expectations. We always recommend considering travel insurance when you cannot afford to recoup the costs of your trip. It can make a big difference. Please keep in mind that if you did have an emergency, you would have called Generali as soon as reasonably possible! Your policy includes claims and 24-hour assistance phone numbers for both inside and outside of the United States, ensuring that you can get in touch with Generali at any time. Of course, if you're in a dire medical emergency you would want to seek care immediately and worry about contacting Generali once you're stable.
However, you will need to know what documentation will be most important for you to secure before returning home. We cannot stress enough that you should save your receipts and proof of expenses so that you can be accurately reimbursed, whether it be costs due to a delay of travel for hotel or meal, or medical records for emergency treatment received. This is especially important for medical care received overseas, since it can be incredibly difficult to get this paperwork once you have returned home.
