I purchased a plan through CSA for a cruise I was taking with my 80+ year old parents in this past October. My parents also purchased travel insurance through insuremytrip, but with another carrier. I've purchased trip insurance a dozen or more times in the past and luckily, never had to make a claim.
Well this time, lo and behold, my poor mother fell and broke her hip 12 days prior to our departure date. I immediately started my claim. I had a difficult time getting my mother's orthopedic surgeon's office to complete CSA's Physician Statement form because the office said it was a HIPAA violation - regardless of the fact that my mother had signed a release specifically allowing them to disclose that information to CSA. Since my mother had also purchased insurance and her surgeon DID complete her carrier's Physician's Statement form, I submitted a copy of that one to CSA and asked if they would take it instead of their own form and apparently they did because my claim was subsequently approved and I was reimbursed the entire cruise fare and my airfare!
I must admit I was worried for a time because I got the feeling they were not going to approve the claim. I am completely satisfied with the process, which understandably, was a lot of paperwork and several hoops to jump through, but I would not hesitate in the future to purchase another plan through CSA....although they may not be keen on insuring somebody in the future that they had to pay out on. I'll have to test that out.

We bought a plan for my son-in-law and his wife as well (we wrote a duplicate review for that one as follows: I didn't have to use the plan so the ratings are good only to the extent that I am satisfied with the process of getting the plan and what covered. You should change or tweak your survey questions in light of such policy holders/travelers.).

Although I was fortunate that I did not have to use any of the coverage provided, the comfort and security I felt knowing that it was there was invaluable. The person I spoke to while signing up for this plan was beyond helpful. Definitely will use this company again when traveling.

I've always said it's better to have travel insurance and not use it than to not have it and need it. Cost was reasonable and thank goodness I didn't have to use it.

We've used insuremytrip for several years, and although we've never had to file a claim, the peace of mind is great. We've purchased CSA a few times because we like the coverage and the price.
I also love the insuremytrip website. It's great to be able to compare plans side by side to see what's actually covered and make an informed decision. We frequently recommend the insuremytrip to our friends.

If you are considering this company, make sure you fully understand their definition of 'pre-existing conditions'. This company has a 180 look-back history. I didn't know what that meant until I had to file a claim and was denied. Here's what look-back means: any condition evaluated or treated 180 days PRIOR to purchase. "Underlying conditions" is also part of this definition. I lost a lot of $$$ not fully understanding the definitions. Next time I have to buy travel insurance, I will DEFINITELY go to great lengths to understand every aspect of the policy.

We also offer a free look back period with all of our plans to allow customers to cancel their policies within a designated period as long as they haven't already left on their trip or filed a claim. As you’ve said in your review, the plan you purchased is unable to provide coverage for any losses resulting from Pre-Existing Medical Conditions. Our Custom Luxe plan can provide coverage for such losses provided the plan is purchased prior to or within 24 hours of final trip payment, if other requirements outlined in the Description of Coverage/Policy are met.
