Generally adequate coverage, but I discovered that this policy doesn't cover any incidental expenses associated with changing our airline reservations to an earlier flight in order to avoid a reliably-predicted extended storm-related delay, even though the airline had already declared a weather event and waived all change fees. It seems the insurer prefers to incur the significantly larger claim that would presumably have resulted if we'd kept our original reservations, which would have stranded us at the airport for a day or more.

My claim was small...just about $200 for a missed tour in Iceland due to illness. When I spoke with the CSA agent on the phone, I was made to feel discouraged. Supposedly I would need more medical documentation than what I did have. I went ahead and filed anyway and VOILA! The letter I had from the hotel person who called the EMT's for me and my own letter explaining things turned out to be adequate. I am very pleased.

I thought the cost was reasonable for what I wanted, which was emergency medical evacuation, if necessary. The travel insurance that came with my credit card didn't provide adequate levels, but since I didn't have to file a claim I have no idea on how useful or effective the policy would be.

Claim was handled fairly but very slowly. They received our claim in their office on February 22, 2017 and responded, "We are currently experiencing very high claim volume. Please allow us time to review the information received." They didn't issue check to pay this claim until March 17th. I think they need to hire more claims adjusters to handle claims in a more prompt fashion.

Unfortunately after booking our cruise, my arthritic right shoulder became extremely painful causing me to seek medical care and arthroscopic surgery was scheduled weeks later, and we had to cancel our vacation. I contacted CSA and completed all the documents and my physician did as well. Bottom line, because I have had arthritis in my shoulder prior to paying for the insurance (which we purchased ONLY because of fear weather conditions would prohibit travel, we live in WNY), we were NOT reimbursed because it was a pre-existing condition. We have purchased travel insurance from CSA numerous times and this ONE time needing to take advantage of the insurance, it was denied. I (we) never would have booked a vacation if there were any indication this unforeseen circumstance would have evolved. Can you please review and reconsider my claim? Thank you
