The only problem she had was her wallet was stolen while in LA. We found a way to get her home, but, is there any way you folks could have helped also??

    You could have called CSA Travel Protection 24 Assistance. Your policy offered 24 Emergency Assistance Services which included "Emergency Cash Transfer":

    "If your cash or traveler’s checks are lost or stolen, or unanticipated emergency expenses are incurred, the assistance provider will help arrange for an emergency cash transfer in currency, traveler’s checks, or other forms as deemed acceptable by the assistance provider. The assistance provider will advance up to $500 after satisfactory guarantee of reimbursement from you."

    Please also note that there would be no coverage under any of our policies including your CSA Custom plan for the theft of cash or traveler's checks.

This is the second time I have used the travel insurance. It is very easy to purchase and the documents are sent by email very quickly. I had a small health claim which required a lot of documentation and time to complete. I am retired so I had time to go through all the requirements. If you are working I am sure you would forget it and not submit the claim. Probably how they make money!

Flights were cancelled due to bad weather. Called CSA and was given all of the information I needed to file a claim for our plan. Agent was very friendly and helpful. I was able to purchase alternate travel arrangements at the airport and still make our cruise departure in time. We were reimbursed in a reasonable time frame after the trip and the claims process was smooth. We have been a regular customer of CSA and made a couple claims over the years. Based on this experience and past experiences, we will continue to be a customer for a long time.

I cancelled the trip months ago but too late to get a refund so I wasted my money. Plan should allow for a refund when trip is cancelled months ahead.

    We are sorry to learn your trip was canceled. Most of our providers have a strict review period in which a policy may be canceled and fully refunded. The CSA Custom policy has a 10 day review period from purchase where they would issue this refund.

    Once you are outside your review period, and a refund is not available, we are able to request that your policy is transferred to a new trip. If you receive a full refund of your trip, and you have not filed any claims against your policy, we are more than happy in assisting you with this request.

I didn't have any problems thank God, so I really can't say if this was a great plan or not. The peace of mind was worth it though. My main concern was London due to all the terrorist attacks that have occurred there, but all was fine when I was there.

Policy costs are a common customer complaint so it is important to keep in mind that policy premiums are based on the age of the travelers, trip cost per person and length of trip. Although I did not use the plan for which I am thankful, a gentleman on one of the tours died while on the tour. It made me realize how important it is to have repatriation insurance when traveling in foreign countries.
