I like the coverage. A few years ago, you covered a hotel stay when our flight was delayed - causing us to miss our connection. However, on this trip, my suitcase was lost at the disembarkation terminal. Holland America didn't find it for a week. (Turns out it got put back on the ship.) I thought I was going to have to file a claim. I thought I'd be in good shape because I had a list of things in my suitcase. But the form asks for brand, purchase place and price. Who has that information? I knew my favorite jeans were in the bag; but had no idea when or where I bought them, how much I paid or even what brand they were.

I'm sure glad they found the bag, because it sounds like I'd have had a hard time making a claim.

    Thank you for your feedback and review. Regarding baggage claims, we recommend taking a picture or two of your bags (open of course) and their contents and emailing those photos to yourself before you travel just in case you need to file a claim. As you can imagine, it can be difficult to recall every item in your luggage.

It would have been nice if coverage was extended to include cancellation for the illness or death of an extended family member. This was an issue I faced and I decided to take the trip.

    Thank you for your review and suggestion. Cancel For Any Reason is available on certain package policies which would allow you to cancel should an extended family member fall ill etc. It is a time sensitive benefit, so it is necessary to purchase a policy within 10-21 days of your first trip payment/down payment. There are other qualifiers that must be met, so please contact us should you need Cancel For Any Reason on your next policy.

While the coverage seemed complete, It is very expensive, in our opinion and I might add the opinion of others we spoke to on the trip. Several did not buy the insurance because of the cost (though they would like to had coverage). Possibly lowering the cost would give you more customers and possibly more profits.

Fortunately, I didn't have to make any claims, although I must admit I felt a lot easier about having to disembark from one plane and run across the aisle to catch the tail end of the line boarding my next connection, knowing if my bags were lost, I wouldn't have to rely only on the airline!

Given the vast array of choices, I found the easiest way to select the coverage I needed was to speak directly with a customer care representative. While I did not need to use the insurance, I felt better having it, especially with parents in their nineties!
