Once the threshold of age 70 was realized, some competing travel insurance plans were extremely expensive for the coverage to Antarctica. General global policy provided necessary coverage at a much more reasonable cost.

The original trip, for which the insurance was purchased, was canceled by the travel company before the start of the program. The insurance company made it extremely difficult to transfer the insurance to the re-scheduled trip.

I had to change the travel dates shortly before leaving on my trip. Generali Global Assistance quickly made the adjustment and sent me an updated policy. That customer service was very appreciated.
Fortunately, I did not have to file a claim on this trip, but I was glad to know that if my flights were messed up or if baggage was lost, we would be covered.
