We did not have a claim before or during our trip, so we can only evaluate the coverage. We especially liked the coverage of pre-existing conditions. Almost impossible to find that months after the first down payment on a trip.

Thank you for bringing the terms for the Pre-existing Condition Waiver under the Generali Premium plan to the attention of your fellow travelers.
The majority of Comprehensive plans offer a waiver of the Pre-existing Condition Exclusion if you purchase the policy within 10 to 21 days of the Initial Trip Payment Date. However, the Generali Global Assistance Premium plan offers that waiver if you purchase their policy prior to or within 24 hours of your final trip payment:
"We will not pay for loss or expense caused by or incurred resulting from a Pre-Existing Condition, as defined in the Definitions section, including death that results therefrom. This Exclusion does not apply provided you meet the following requirements:
a. coverage is purchased prior to or within 24 hours of your final Trip Payment; and
b. you are medically able to travel at the time the coverage is purchased; and
c. you insure 100% of your prepaid Trip costs that are subject to cancellation penalties or restrictions."Jul 05,2019

I had to extend my stay with two days and called to extend the insurance coverage,of course for an extra charge.To my surprise I was told they were unable to offer that.I was shocked when they also declined to sell me a new policy for the two extra days.I think it is very rigid and customer unfriendly.For that reason,I will never use Generali again.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, with any Comprehensive plan, after you leave home the plan cannot be extended. The Generali Global Assistance Premium plan offers extension of coverage in the following event:
"Extension of Coverage
All coverages under the Policy will be extended if your
entire Trip is covered by the Policy and your return is
delayed by unavoidable circumstances beyond your
control. If coverage is extended for the above reasons,
coverage will end on the earlier of the date you reach your
originally scheduled return destination or seven (7) days
after the Scheduled Return Date."
In the future, if you are extending a trip, please call us at 800-487-4722 and we can go over any available Single-Trip Medical plans for the additional dates that you need coverage.Oct 04,2018

Filed a claim after a flight was canceled and we had to purchase a last minute more expensive ticket on another airline. Generali paid the difference between the two tickets. They approved the claim in one day and we received a check two weeks later. My advice is to send ALL documents relating to the claim even if it seems redundant.
