We have never purchased travel insurance before, but for this particular trip we chose to do so. The reasons were more about concerns over possible health issues back home; however this plan actually was put into use when our daughter fell ill while travelling overseas. After a hospitalization of four days and our return flights being delayed into the following week we had amassed additional costs. CSA checked in with us every day. They followed our daughter's medical progress and worked with the doctors to ensure her ability to travel. The plan covered our extra hotel, meals and car rental, plus our out-of-pocket health insurance deductible. Will consider this plan again!

Although we did not need it, we were very happy to know that we were adequately covered in case we did. This is actually the first time that we have not had to use at least part of it. We have found CSA to offer a quality product at a fair price. We would never go overseas without them!

While on our trip, we got some scratches on the side of our vehicle while traveling in the United Kingdom. We were charged around $870 by the rental company for damages. The claim process was straightforward and easy to understand. Though I didn't hear anything back for about 3 weeks, the only correspondence I got was confirmation that my claim was approved and the check was in the mail. Easy enough.
My only minor complaint is that they wouldn't cover the administrative fee charged by the rental company, so technically they only paid out about $800 of the $870 I had to pay. Still, it's technically stated that way in the agreement, so I don't have much room to gripe.

I have bought this protection a few times before. It provides the overall protection and peace of mind I needed for our trips. The email communication was appropriate and straightforward. This insurance provides more coverage than flight insurance for a reasonable price.

I would recommend that people purchase travel and medical insurance when going overseas. Each person has different needs, one needs to evaluate what is offered and the cost of coverage. You do not have to buy the most expensive plan. Good basic coverage would work just as well. Most important is to have coverage for travel interruption and medical coverage or evacuation.
