This plan offers comprehensive Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption coverage if you have to cancel or interrupt for one of the listed covered reasons. The worst travel insurance company EVER! When I realized that the plan did NOT cover complications from normal pregnancy I tried to cancel the plan within the ten day grace period. It took me over 6 hours on the phone, had to file no less than four exception requests which went unanswered for weeks. The time it took to deal with an exception requesting to cancel put me outside the ten day grace period so they refused it again. I cancelled all insurance with them and found a more reputable company.

I thought the cost comparing with other alternatives was very fair. We did experience in-country (domestic) flights (Quito to Coca Ecuador round trip) that were cancelled at the last minute and required the service to be converted to a driven alternative, which resulted in a 6-7 hour drive each way in order to maintain scheduled itinerary - this was a bit uncomfortable, but we dealt with it to maintain our desired visits to the rainforest.

Amazing trip and experience. Very well planned and organized, thank you for every bit of hard work and efforts in bringing this event together. So happy to be included and able to participate. The one bit of feedback would have helped me pack differently is knowing we can leave behind clothing that may be useful for the community. I had a few things to leave behind but could have delivered more if that's something the villages need. Much gratitude to everyone involved!!

Obtaining the policy was very easy. I thankfully didn't need to file a claim, and since that's where the rubber meets the road, I can't evaluate the claims process. One thing I couldn't easily find was a policy where you could pick and choose the benefits. For example, my health insurance covers medical expenses outside of the country, and I didn't want to pay for additional coverage that I wouldn't need. But I didn't see policies that provided that option.

Thank you for your 4 1/2 star review. In order to purchase Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption coverage, you must purchase a Comprehensive plan which is a travel insurance plan that offers the most benefits of all plan types. Although you cannot delete the Medical coverage, we offer plans with Medical limits ranging from 10,000 USD to 500,000 USD per person.

My primary goal was to be sure that If I needed to be evacuated that I had a policy for that possibility. It appears that each coverage wants to be sure that a previous coverage does not cover, in this case, evacuation. I learned from Humana that I must spend my dollars first, return to the US and then file for reimbursement.
I'm not sure how your carrier would have performed in this instance, but I felt good about having the extra protection.
