This plan offers comprehensive Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption coverage if you have to cancel or interrupt for one of the listed covered reasons. I was in Guatemala when a volcano erupted. I did not have disruption of my plans, but I appreciated the fact that insure my trip was aware of my location and sent me an email advising me to contact them if needed. Nice bit of reassurance.

Claim was handled fairly but very slowly. They received our claim in their office on February 22, 2017 and responded, "We are currently experiencing very high claim volume. Please allow us time to review the information received." They didn't issue check to pay this claim until March 17th. I think they need to hire more claims adjusters to handle claims in a more prompt fashion.

Most of the other tour participants in our group had not purchased trip insurance, but when we were stranded in the Dallas airport due to the tornado and storms, we knew everything would turn out all right because of InsureMyTrip and the CSA Travel Protection Custom plan we had purchased. Fortunately, we were able to get on a flight within 24 hours, but others couldn't get out for three and four days, missing half of an eight-day tour of Guatemala and spending their own money for hotel stays.
