1st, it’s hard to write an accurate review when we did not have to submit a claim and have no idea how difficult that process would be.
Our trip was originally scheduled for St. Maarten but due to the hurricane, was switched to Punta Cana. The hoops Insure My Trip made me jump though were enough to never use the company again. I made 1 phone call to CSA and they switched immediately while we were on the phone. I still jumped though IMT’s hoops to make sure if we needed to make a claim on any of our 8 travelers, we were covered. So unnecessary. The CSA rep was pleasant, the IMT agent, not so much. Again, will use CSA again, but not IMT.

    Thank you for your comments. We are pleased to hear that you were satisfied with CSA's response. However InsureMyTrip must follow CSA procedures which do require us to have our customers submit their travel date changes in print attached to documents from the travel providers.

    Nevertheless, most of our customers appreciate the ability to quote and compare plans prior to purchase along with our “Anytime Advocates” who will support you with the process if you feel a claim has been unfairly denied.

Good plan that helped us to enjoy our vacation worry free. It is well worth to have this coverage to protect our trip cost and have assistance in case of unexpected events. We always use Travel Protection for our trips and recommend all our friends to do the same.

Generali Global Assistance Standard
CSA refused to grant the claim stating that I had medical pre-condition. The first symptoms of my sickness appeared just 2 weeks before planning trip and never before and the coverage was bought few months earlier. I received the money only after very complicated way of complains.
Terrible handling.

    Although it is unfortunate that you had difficulties in settling this claim, we are pleased to hear that the CSA Travel Protection has reimbursed you for your medical expenses.

    For the benefit of your fellow travelers, CSA defines a PRE-EXISTING CONDITION as a "Sickness or Injury during the 180-day period immediately prior to your effective date for which you or your Traveling Companion:
    (1) received, or received a recommendation for, a diagnostic test, examination, or medical treatment; or
    (2) took or received a prescription for drugs or medicine. Item 2 of this definition does not apply to a condition which is treated or controlled solely through the taking of prescription drugs or medicine and remains treated or controlled without any adjustment or change in the required prescription throughout the 180-day period before coverage is effective under this Policy."
    Please also note that the CSA Custom plan does not offer a waiver of that preexisting conditions exclusion.
