Not sure if I'd recommend. That is because I had no claim. I also noticed this was secondary coverage when I clearly asked the InsureMyTrip telephone sales operator for primary coverage. Well, it was cheaper as secondary I guess. Just happy I had no claim.

It was reassuring to have selected an unbelievably affordable travel policy for our recent first trip to Europe. We spent 14 days in Germany and knew that most medical occurrences and travel mishaps would be covered. It offered us peace of mind so that we could spend our time enjoying our vacation.

I had to see the ships doctor on our cruise. This incurred s $268.00 fee. After submitting claim to my Medicare supplement and receiving a denial of payment (cost was applied to my travel deductible) I submitted all my documentation on line. It took about 6 weeks to receive my full cost of care. The website was excellent to follow the processing of my claim.

Was disappointed that I could not get a plan specifically for the trip portion since I already had the medical evacuation portion of the trip covered. And, that is the reason why I rated the plan as I did.

My wife had health issues and so had to cancel her part of the trip, though I continued. I filed a claim for $1400 with all required information at the end of May. Upon returning home, after nearly 2 months of inaction and only cryptic notes given in the online claim status report, I called customer service at TravelClaimsOnline.

The representative could not explain the delay, especially during 3 weeks of June when no status entries were made. She also pointed out that for some unknown reason, the claim number was changed without informing me, so I could not know any of the latest status updates anyway.

It is now the end of July and the claim status report of the new number on the day after I called said, "final payment printed". The check finally arrived two months after filing the claim and much confusion.

I made a claim to another travel insurance company for a separate trip that I had to cancel due to my wife's health issue. It was also obtained through InsureMyTrip. The claim was processed in 2 weeks. I will use this company again!

Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing customercare@insuremytrip.com, explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.
