It took almost 3 months from the date that my small medical claim (under $200) was filed with Global Alert with all requested attachments. I called several times and kept getting told that it is a busy time for claims, and that they "appreciate my patience". They said that they are processing claims in the order that they were received, and that my claim was still in the queue. Even when they said that they would try to expedite the claim, nothing happened.
I finally contacted insuremytrip.com about my claim. I was immediately assigned a Customer Advocate by insuremytrip. She talked with Global Alert/TripMate on my behalf, and I have finally received my check from them. It took 2 weeks from when I contacted insuremytrip until I received the check.
I am glad that I purchased the insurance through insuremytrip, since they advocate for you in case of a problem.
I have recently purchased insurance for another trip through insuremytrip - but not through Global Alert/TripMate.
