The Global Alert Preferred plan offers comprehensive Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption coverage if you have to cancel or interrupt your trip due an unforeseen covered event.
Took 2 months for them to pay a simple 1 item claim $200 claim on $20,000 worth of coverage.
Poor customer service response. Lots of excuses. Sometimes they did not return customer service calls. No way to email the claims dept.

I really like Global Alert's coverage and their price. Unfortunately, I did have to file a claim because I needed to delay my trip for personal reasons. I had chosen the "Cancel For Any Reason" coverage. I changed my flights and was hit with the price difference + change fee. After filing my claim, Global Alert responded saying that I needed to fill out a form saying that I will not use my ticket for a future trip. I was confused and probably should have called in, but just gave up because I figured I would technically be using the ticket since they just reissued one just with the price difference + change fee. Several weeks later, I received a check from them for 75% of my $250 United Airlines change fee. I'm really glad they took the time to look into my ticket without requiring me to contact them and fight for it. This is above and beyond what they needed to do and for that I am giving them a good review and will purchase their insurance again for the delayed trip.
